F+F Festival: Radical Education

On September 23rd and 24th, in collaboration with the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, a festival will be held to mark the 50th anniversary of the F+F School of Art and Design. The festival will take up and develop pedagogical principles around the theme of "Radical Education". It will invite artists who practice experimental teaching as part of their work; seek dialogue with self-organized student groups critically engaging with their schools; and include collectively-led organizations that facilitate inclusive, grassroots programs of study. In workshops, reading groups, open brainstorming sessions, film screenings, walks, and other formats, the festival will explore self-organized spaces of action that harness creative activity, and aims to bring together a diverse network of cultural activists who have in common in their demand for a different school. The festival focuses on collective understanding/learning through play and on play as an exercise in freedom of expression, transgression of norms and critical skills.
