Artist’s Talk: Jakob Kudsk Steensen in conversation with Heike Munder (Curator of the exhibition and Director of the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst)

Jakob Kudsk Steensen (b. Køge, Denmark, 1987) combines in his works his interest in digital media and art with anthropological approaches. In the current exhibition Potential Worlds 1: Planetary Memories, he shows the installation RE-ANIMATED (2018/2019): A video and virtual reality installation that reacts and reanimates an extinct bird species from Hawaii. Kudsk Steensen’s installation forms a space, where questions arise about current and future technological experiences, notions, and memories pertaining to a disappeared environment and the extinction of threatened species.
