In dialogue with Pour Noubia: Lecture Performance and Staged reading

Performance August 29, 2026 06:00 pm – 08:00 pm

Venue: Caring Space

On 29 August, the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, in collaboration with the literary collective zwischentext, invites you to an evening featuring a lecture-performance and a scenic reading. This collaboration brings together performance, literature and art. The evening takes its starting point from Mohamed Bourouissa’s exhibition Pour Noubia, which is expanded to include new voices, perspectives and narratives. The two parts of the programme create a shared space in which artistic practice, collective writing and personal experiences enter into dialogue with one another.

6.00–6.45 pm: Hurra Hurryia 3.0 – Lecture-performance

Building on their lecture-performance Hurra Hurryia 2.0, the artists and friends Hannan Salamat and Donya Speaks focus on the absurdity of cultural stereotypes. With honesty and humour, text and the body, theory and personal experiences, they open up spaces for ambivalence and contradictions. In doing so, they interweave stories from Tunisia and Algeria with questions of migration, memory, colonial history and belonging. This creates a space where personal experiences meet societal issues and new perspectives on the future are explored. The performance is accompanied and enhanced musically by Dania Murad with a live soundscape.

From 7 pm: Staged reading with zwischentext

The performance then continues with a scenic reading. The programme features literary texts created during two writing workshops organised by the post-migrant, interdisciplinary and multilingual collective zwischentext, in response to Mohamed Bourouissa’s exhibition Pour Noubia.

The texts were curated by Mërgim Gutaj and Artan Islamaj and adapted for the evening. They enter into a dialogue with the exhibition, enriching it with collective literary voices, new perspectives, different languages and personal experiences. The reading highlights how artistic and literary practice opens up new spaces for exchange, participation and multi-voiced narratives.
