Trauercafe – Talking About Grief Together

Art and Healing Workshops November 18, 2026 03:00 pm – 05:00 pm

Meeting point: Museum entrance, ground floor (EG)

The Trauercafé is a space for conversation. We come together to grieve, reflect, and share memories. Experiences of loss are a recurring part of life, whether through the end of a romantic relationship, a friendship that has broken down, illness, or the death of a loved one. Sharing these experiences can foster connection and support healing.

Inspired by the two exhibitions currently on view, by Nicole L’Huillier and Sylvie Fleury & Shamiran Istifan, this Grief Café explores themes of interpersonal resonance, social roles, and resilience. During a guided tour with grief celebrant Jordis Fellmann, we will discuss the thoughts and emotions that the exhibitions evoke in us.

Afterwards, we will gather in the museum’s education studio for coffee and cake and exchange personal experiences. Together with the grief celebrant, we will explore rituals for engaging with death, grief, and loss, and for processing these experiences in an empowering way. To conclude, participants will work with an art therapist to give form to their feelings using a range of materials, paper, and colours.
