Open Call: Writing Workshops with zwischentext
Venue: In the exhibition
Information in Arabic
With ‘Pour Noubia’, the museum presents Mohamed Bourouissa’s first solo exhibition in Switzerland. Bourouissa is a leading portraitist of our time: through photography, film, installations and AI-based works, he explores issues of visibility, social inequality, memory and representation. The focus is on people and communities whose experiences and stories are often marginalised in public imagery and societal narratives.
Building on the themes of the exhibition, the museum and zwischentext are hosting a series of writing workshops. The focus is on texts about memory, language, community, the body, archives and invisibility – whether literary, documentary or performative.
The workshops are open to anyone interested, regardless of writing experience or background. Together, participants will create texts inspired by Bourouissa’s work, opening up new perspectives on personal and collective experiences.
The first workshop will take place on 4 July 2026 at the museum, with a second to follow in August. Working together with invited artists, the participants will develop a staged reading and performance based on the resulting texts. This will be presented on 29 August 2026 as part of the Long Night at the museum.
The project is a collaboration between the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst and zwischentext. It brings together art, writing and performance, creating a space for new narrative forms as well as personal and shared stories.
zwischentext is a literary, (post-)migrant and multilingual collective and publishing project. Through publications, festivals, programmes and exhibitions, it creates space for diverse voices, languages and perspectives. Using texts, illustrations, photographs and experimental narrative forms, zwischentext promotes a diversity of voices and challenges social conventions.
