Disruptions are annoying. However, disruptions are also the basis of change – in biological as well as social evolution – and are thus often caused intentionally. But what does it take for disruption not only to be destructive, but also to enable the emergence of something new, perhaps even something better? Or is that just a matter of perspective? The guided tour by Jakub Samochowiec, researcher at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, takes up works in the exhibition as symbols of current developments and disruptions and relates them to one another. From supply shortages to the Black Lives Matter movement, from undersea internet cables to social media fame, Samochowiec will weave a net of associations and discuss the phenomenon of disruption as a catalyst for progress
