Choir Workshop: Earworms for the Rich to Fall in Love With Getting Poor

Workshops for adults October 29, 2026 06:30 pm – 09:00 pm

Venue: Exhibition, Café Bourouissa

A choir workshop hosted by Nicole L'Huillier, Ingo Niermann and Sabina Leone

How do you reach someone who has stopped listening? Common anti-capitalist protests rely on shouting to be heard. But shouting rarely changes a heart. This workshop takes a different approach, one rooted in voice, vibration, and collective sonic presence: building and training a siren-like chorus whose beguiling chants (eventually performed in front of mansions, yachts, casinos, luxury hotels, exclusive clubs and shops) are meant to plant earworms to instigate change, to the rich to “share!”

Following a first workshop at Shedhalle Zürich, this second gathering takes place at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. Taking Ingo Niermann’s video Positive Terror – 7 Tutorials as a starting point, Nicole L’Huillier, Ingo Niermann and Sabina Leone will guide participants through basic singing exercises and the shared process of writing, arranging and singing chants.

Nicole L’Huillier’s exhibition Canción de Amor provides a space to explore collective listening and resonance. Activated by touch, voice and movement, its architecture transforms individual gestures into a shared, ever-changing sonic composition, inviting participants to tune into one another and their surroundings.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of singing experience, and you can join even if you did not attend the first workshop at Shedhalle. No preparation is needed: the artists will guide you step by step as you explore your voice, listen to others and create chants together.

The choir workshop is part of a collaboration between Shedhalle Zürich and Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst.
