Turiya – Performance by New Kyd

Performance November 28, 2026 06:30 pm – 08:00 pm

Venue: In the exhibition

In collaboration with Tanzhaus Zürich, the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst invites artist, choreographer and DJ New Kyd to create a new performative intervention in Nicole L’Huillier’s exhibition Canción de Amor.

Drawing on the notion of Turiya from Hindu philosophy, which describes the fourth and ultimate stage of consciousness, New Kyd explores different ways of listening, sensing, and connecting. Bringing together different references from literature, Western and Eastern philosophy, and Yoruba spiritual traditions, they develop a performative score conceived as a siren love song.

Through movement and voice, New Kyd activate Nicole L’Huillier’s installation The Dancefloor, transforming it into a space for shared experience. The performances invites the audience to pause, listen closely and reflect how shared attention can shape a collective experience of openness and love.

New Kyd (they/she) is a Zurich-based interdisciplinary movement artist, choreographer, DJ and producer working across choreography, sound, performance, installation and text. Their practice explores the body as a site where memory, history and imagination continue to move. Through gestures, rhythms, storytelling and somatic experience, Kyd investigates how knowledge is transmitted beyond language; preserving traces of what has been forgotten, displaced or transformed over time.
