Soulmary – Culture Talk

Stretching thresholds, holding streams January 10, 2025 06:00 pm – 07:00 pm

In the talk show series Culture Talk hosted by Zurich-based moderator Marieta Kiptalam, also known as Soulmary, voices from the arts, culture, and public life come together to discuss societal thresholds and boundaries, sharing their personal perspectives and ways of navigating these issues.

On 10 January, the writer, spoken word artist and visual artist Jürg Halter and the fashion designer and founder of the Gwand Festival Suzanna Vock will be guests. Together they will talk about their many years of artistic practice, their work as creative artists and their social commitment in various areas.

Jürg Halter (born 1980 in Bern, where he lives most of the time) is one of the best-known Swiss authors of his generation and a pioneer of the German-language spoken word movement. He studied fine arts at the Bern University of the Arts. Halter has performed internationally for many years - in Europe, the USA, Africa, Russia, South America and Japan - and works collaboratively with other artists from various disciplines. His artistic activities include numerous book and music publications, theatre projects and art exhibitions.

Suzanna Vock (1970) is a fashion designer and founder of Gwand, an internationally renowned fashion festival. She has been active in the fashion world for more than 30 years and has built up an extensive international network. Vock regularly advises companies and fashion brands on strategic issues. Since its foundation in 1993, she has developed the Gwand Festival from a platform for designers into one of the most prestigious fashion awards. This award supports talented and up-and-coming designers in their careers. She is also a member of several juries and advises fashion labels, particularly on sustainability issues.
