DIY Zine Workshop – re-examining, unlearning, creating Archive together

Canopy Sessions March 5, 2026 06:00 pm – 08:00 pm

Venue: In the shamiana meeting space

Have you ever been handed a piece of paper at a protest – or handed one out yourself? Zines and leaflets are more than just a means of mobilising social movements. They also preserve history, resistance and knowledge.

As a prelude to the March 8 demonstration on International Women's Day, we cordially invite you to the exhibition on Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. One chapter is devoted to gender disobedience—resistant practices against normative ideas of gender and sex. The exhibition opens up spaces for exchange, self-determination, and solidarity.

Together we will create feminist zines for exchange and archiving. archiv115 and the Gosteli Archive will bring a selection of (copied) archival materials. You are also welcome to bring and share your own texts, poems, or drawings (copies are fine).

There will be tea, cookies, and an open space for listening, sharing, and coming together. Bring your friends, your ideas, and your positive energy—we look forward to seeing you!

Co-organised by archiv115 – the archive in the feminist strike house in collaboration with the Gosteli Archive.

The Canopy Sessions are a series of talks with actors from art, culture, science and activism in the Shamiana meeting space, an open textile structure in the exhibition Disobedience Archive (Canopy for Broken Time) – In Dialogue with Raqs Media Collective. Here, archives can be experienced as living spaces for storytelling, remembrance and the transmission of knowledge. In addition to talks and readings, the sessions also include practices from our everyday lives that show how deeply knowledge is stored in ourbodies. Each session takes up the chapters of the exhibition and asks how shared vulnerability can lead to new forms of attention, relationship and solidarity.

Awareness: This evening is a space for listening, reflection and respectful exchange. The audience is invited to respond attentively and thoughtfully to the conversations and to formulate questions as open feedback. Everyone present is responsible for treating each other with respect. Together, we contribute to ensuring that this space remains safe, mindful and appreciative.
