Whether forever - or not. High-quality relationships such as friends, partners and family not only lead to greater life satisfaction, they also have a positive effect on health. Even before the pandemic, feelings of loneliness were on the rise in the Swiss population and «social distancing» seems to be an international trend even without infectious disease.

Dr. Jakub Samochowiec, Senior Researcher and Speaker at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute GDI, will guide us through the exhibition «Acts of Friendship – Act 3» at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. In doing so, he draws a connection to the study he wrote «In Good Company», which for the first time provides representative findings on friendships throughout Switzerland.

Can we also speak of a «friendship recession» in this country? What is the significance, what functions and what peculiarities do friendships have in Switzerland?

Because regardless of how individual friendships are lived: The Swiss population needs its friends.
