Film Historian's Talk

Lectures and symposia February 14, 2013 07:00 pm – 08:00 pm
(in English) Drawing on the work of Stephen G. Rhodes, we will consider laughter itself not as an index of the social, but instead as an experience of being always out of time, forever alienated from the social, no matter how close one appears to, or even in, it. The laughter that follows from our engagement with Rhodes’s art is, it will be shown, an expression of time that can never take—or be in—place at once, or in one time.
