Fatima Moumouni and Laurin Buser on the theme of friendships – conversation, texts and music

Performances June 22, 2023 06:00 pm – 07:00 pm

Fatima Moumouni and Laurin Buser have been working together in a wide variety of fields since 2015. As a spoken word duo they won the 2022 Salzburger Stier, for the Schauspielhaus Zurich they wrote the hit plays Ich chan es Zündhölzli azünde and Bullestress – and as rap duo NUGGETS they recently released their debut EP Contenance.

As part of the Acts of Friendship exhibition, Moumouni and Buser create an exclusive set in which they take on the themes of the exhibition lyrically and in casual dialogue. In doing so, the two reflect on friendships that have shaped their own lives, ask about the sociopolitical dimensions of being friends, and reflect on their own bond through writing together.

Fatima Moumouni is a spoken word poet, presenter and columnist living in Zurich. She has been performing on various stages in German-speaking countries since 2011. Together with journalist and Uğur Gültekin, she hosts Moumouni/Gültekin – Switzerland's first post-foreign, post-migrant late night show. And at the Gessnerallee in Zurich, Moumouni hosts her series of talks Die Neue Unsicherheit, a plea for more space for insecurity on public stages as a driver for more progressive discourse.

Laurin Buser is a rapper, spoken word poet, moderator and actor from Basel. On the road since 2007 on various stages, toured with four full-length shows, won together with Fatima Moumouni the German-speaking as well as Swiss Poetry Slam Championships. He was active as a host for the investigative online format Jäger & Sammler by Funk. His album Schmuck was released on the label Kunstwerkstadt by Hamburg rapper Samy Deluxe. His new EP Fresko will be released this year.
