Encounters is an ongoing discussion that explores the interplay between (scientific) knowledge and dominant narratives. It scrutinises how findings break down established assumptions, how they challenge the canon and enter the public discourse.

Based on research case studies, art practices on water exports and river systems, we will reflect/explore how knowledge flows from institutions despite or because of their preservation and practices. Drawing on methods from School of Commons' Ways & Workings framework and the research-led practice of the SAE Greenhouse, Encounters aims to activate critical questions and discussions on topics such as informal learning environments, knowledge decentralisation, decolonial pedagogies, and practices and methods of making together.
