Artist's Talk with Carmen and Antonio Papalia
Join artist’s Carmen and Antonio Papalia for an artists talk with exhibition curator Dr. Michael Birchall. Carmen and Antonio will discuss their collaborative approach, and how it makes us aware that an inclusive society is based on diverse experiences and knowledge as well as collectivism and self-determination.
Comissioned as part of the exhibition, Interdependencies: Perspectives on Care and Resilence, Tripping Hazard (Field Studio 1) brings together art, chronic illness, caregiving and accessibility. Here Carmen, with his brother Antonio, allow us to enter a world of sensory exploration. The video work shown in the exhibition documents their relationship and visualizes the hallucinations that Carmen experiences as a component of his vision loss.
