In video and sound installations Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme deal with witnessing, archiving as well as showing violence and loss. At the time of the Arab Revolution, they began collecting footage from the Internet of events in the Middle East.

In the workshop we will discuss how art can work against forgetting and create a video experiment with our smartphones in reference to the exhibition "May amnesia never kiss us on the mouth".

Early Birds is a cultural event series for adults and is launched by the Verein Kulturvermittlung Zürich in collaboration with Zurich cultural institutions. Several institutions jointly develop a thematic workshop series in which art, design, music, dance and theater enter into an exciting connection with each other. Background information, a glimpse behind the scenes or a guided tour through the exhibition are complemented by a creative part during the visit. The workshops can be attended as a series but also individually.
